New Beginnings

Today is the beginning of a new journey for me. I am entering the blogging world and by doing so I am leaving the old me behind while the new me is emerging from behind my veil of privacy. My passion for words has led me down incredible paths that I would not otherwise have travelled. Thirty-five years ago when I discovered what it is that gives me purpose I did not imagine and could not have imagined all the avenues that would be available to writers in this era. Although I am dismayed at the seemingly negative changes in the publishing industry, I am encouraged by new opportunities. Gone are the days of million dollar contracts for new authors with promise, but here are the days of blogs and e-books that have the potential of reaching the whole world. It is exciting to know that one's words can "go out among the nations" just by pressing the "publish" key. On the flip side of that coin is the realization that once those words are out there it will be extremely difficult to retract them once read. So, herein lies the blessing and the curse of opportunity. I must realize the impact that my words will have on my readers, and I must be cognizant that every word that proceeds out from my fingertips must be pleasing to God. As an aspiring writer I seek to share information with others who love playing with words and rearranging them into sentences and stories but because I, like all others, tend to have more than just one interest, I will also include posts and pages that incorporate my fascination for creativity with food, my eccentric tastes in music and my affection (that's probably not a strong enough description) for reading. Here I also hope to provide encouragement and resources for those seeking a more in depth understanding of faith in God. I look forward to sharing my journey with you and pray that you will find something here that adds to the growth of the seeds planted in your life.

  1. The Prophet Isaiah was renowned for His to obedience to God. That commitment is still blessing us today. Part of His submission was in penning the WORD God breathed forth for the edification of those who would come after him. God’s WORD created all that is. It shows the path to Christ and our Salvation. Speaking it today still has vast power, among others, the power to bless. I pray the blessing of Isaiah in 55:11 upon your writing… “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” Like the Book of Isaiah, may the words you write be inspired by God and convey the theme of salvation producing much fruit for His kingdom. May it never return void!

  2. I look forward to the next phase of this journey to see where God leads. You are right. Words are powerful and God asks us to use them for the good of others. Thank you for your encouragement and the reference to Isaiah!
